About Us
Laura Croft joined the firm so that she can fully employ her education to help sellers fulfill their needs and desires to sell their homes. Laura holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. She has experience buying and selling properties personally and has owned and managed residential income properties. She lives in Monona with her husband and daughter and looks forward to the flexibility of working in the real estate consulting field from her home.

Kay Vanderbilt grew up in Madison and knows the Dane County area well. She got her Real Estate Brokers license in 1977 but until the last 3 years has not been active in the selling of property for other people since the 1980's. Instead she bought and sold income property for herself and also worked in the accounting and income tax preparation field.

Over the years Kay and her husband have bought and sold numerous properties. Six years ago they converted a duplex into two condominiums and then sold them FSBO. Going the FSBO route, from their experience, has only one downside. It takes longer because you don't have the exposure that MLS offers. The first condo was sold directly to the buyer. The second condo was sold through a Realtor. In both cases they had an attorney. They were very different transactions. After this experience the flat fee MLS service looked like the best way to go.

Badgerland Homes FSBO was established in July 2006 because we believe you, the Seller, can have it both ways and save yourself thousands of dollars in commissions in the process. Recently the name was changed to Wow Power Realty. We developed a process that we call wow power that we share with our full service clients. When you list your home Flat Fee with Wow Power Realty you can have all of the exposure that MLS offers but still not pay a dime in commission if you sell the home yourself directly to the buyer. If a Realtor does sell your home you will still be saving up to 50% of what you'd have paid in commissions with a full service Realtor. Best of all, you get to control how your home is marketed and negotiate your own transaction. We recommend you have an attorney to help you with negotiations and the sales contract.

Most people go the FSBO route to save money or they just plain want to do it themselves. The hard part is that the MLS system has three quarters or more of the buyers. Realtors, of course, are going to show properties that are listed on the MLS and avoid FSBO's. When you list with Wow Power Realty on a flat fee basis you get access to all those buyers without paying a full service commission rate. You determine in advance what percentage you will pay if a Realtor sells your home. If you sell it yourself you pay no commission at all.
